 Common Species and Sub-Species
« Thread Started on Aug 29, 2005, 2:50am »

With this new world came new breeds and even sub-species of the common, everyday lupine. I've organized their names and information into a kind of list to make everything easier to understand.

Wolves

Wolves are the species least effected by the world's great change. They are the most dominant and numerous, and typically organize themselves into packs and groups, though still many of them travel alone.

Dire Wolves

An ancient species that has made a comeback; the world's first Dire wolves were nothing but a larger version of the wolves common in this world. But this new recreation of an old species has a few changes to it. The Dire wolf is still typically larger than a normal wolf, but they look much more intimidating and even slightly demonic in some cases. Their typical fur patterns are most commonly a mix of black, grey, and copper, but they can vary as much as normal wolves.

Though much stronger, Dire wolves aren't as keen and cunning as the typical lupine. They are considered the in-between point of normal wolves and HindWalkers, so they can have traits from both.

HindWalkers

The name used for wolves who have learned to walk on their hind legs. Their structures are a hybrid of wolf and human build, meaning they are just as comfortable on four legs as they are on two legs and vice-versa. They can build things like tools and shelters, but prefer to live among their four-legged brethren. Some of them even wear small clothing articles and accessories.

Their highly developed minds allow them to excel in some magical skills, and though they come close physically, they cannot match wolves or Dire wolves when it comes to athletic abilities.

Other Playable Species:
- Arctic Foxes
- Bears
- Ancient Ice Creatures (Mammoths, Saber Toothed Cats, etc.)
- Dragons
- Various Other Arctic Creatures

If you want to play something that's not on the list, private message me first just to tell me what it is. I'll probably let you, but I'll still want to know first. If it's a good suggestion, I'll add it to the list!
